Jesus served in all kinds of ways. He served as He was walking along the road, went into people's homes, and even after a long hard day "He had compassion on the crowd and taught them." We all have days when we want to just go home, hide ourselves away and just do what we want to do, usually rest. It is good to do this once in a while to recharge, but if an opportunity arises to serve, we should make the most of it! Jesus and the disciples had had a long hard day and were going off to a place to rest, but the people went ahead of them and met them at the shore. Jesus didn't run the other way or say He just didn't have the time or energy, He sat down and ministered to them. God's desire is for us to serve others, that is how we express our love for Him. Today as the opportunity to serve another arises, be an imitator of Christ and serve wherever.
Hebrews 6:10-12 NIV
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
